In the year 1844, John Gorrie constructed a refrigerator based on the design of the Oliver Evans.

In the year 1876, Carl von Linden patterned the enhanced model of the liquefying gas model, making use of the gases like sulphur, ammonia, and methyl chloride, a fresh process of manufacturing the cooling agents started in the year 1920.
